The riders of CCC Polkowice finished their second before the season of 2012 and first this year training camp on Sunday 22 January. From 11 January the riders were training in Jakuszyce in Ośrodek Szkolenia i Przygotowań Olimpijskich Biathlonistów (Olympic Biathlon Training Centre).
- So far the tasks planned by us have been carried out properly, and all the riders are healthy, which is very important – said coach Marek Galiński. – The camp was general-development oriented – skis, gym, run/walks. Every day we run on skis. What is interesting, in the meantime, Maja Włoszczowska participated in the competitions of Salomon Nordic Sunday in free-style cross-country skiing and she won the women’s category. At Open she was the 16th .
Maja Włoszczowska, Anna Szafraniec, Magdalena Sadłecka and Aleksandra Dawidowicz trained twice a day. – The camp was quite hard – said Magdalena Sadłecka. – We were on the bike several times, and we also practised on bicycle trainers. But above all – skis. We did not practise hard, but there were a lot of volume training – for example the skis 3 hours daily.
The riders of CCC Polkowice returned home for a short rest, but it will not last long. On Wednesday the team are meeting in Kraków, where on Thursday they are going to undergo function tests. On Friday the Polkowice team is flying for their next training camp – for two weeks to the Spanish Calpe, where they are going to train until 10 February.
- After returning from Calpe we will have several days to rest in Poland, and 18 February we are flying for high-mountain training camp, to Sierra Nevada – said the sporting director of the team Grzegorz Dziadowiec. – That training camp will last until 13 March, and from there we will move straight to the Republic of South Africa, where from 17 to 18 March in Pietermaritzburg the first this year MTB World Cup takes place that, as everybody knows, is a very important element of Olympic preparations.
